NEXT STEP: Platform APIs |
Location Service
AdvantEDGE provides a built-in Location Service implementation that integrates with scenarios.
This service provides the following capabilities:
- Learning location of a device within the network
- Learning information on all devices located within a zone or connected to a point-of-access
- Getting real-time updates on device location as they move across the network
Want to know more about Location service: Location Service
Radio Network Information Service
AdvantEDGE provides a built-in RNIS implementation that integrates with scenarios.
This service provides the following capabilities:
- Learning radio network conditions
- Performing user plane measurements
- Learning about devices connected to the radio node(s) associated with the mobile edge host and their radio access bearers
- Getting real-time updates on devices radio conditions as they move across the network
Want to know more about RNIS: Radio Network Information Service
Wireless Access Information Service
AdvantEDGE provides a built-in WAIS implementation that integrates with scenarios.
This service provides the following capabilities:
- Learning terminal (station or STA) information
- Learning access-point information
- Getting real-time updates on devices WLAN conditions as they move across the network

Edge Platform Application Enablement Service
AdvantEDGE provides a built-in Edge Platform Application Enablement Service implementation that integrates with scenarios.
Mp1 reference point provides two different APIs: MEC Application Support and MEC Service Management
These APIs allow MEC Applications to interact with the MEC System, such as:
- Application registration/deregistration (supported)
- Service discovery & offering (supported)
- Event notifications about service and application availability (supported)
- Traffic rules, DNS (not supported)
- Time of day (supported)

Application Mobility Service
AdvantEDGE provides a built-in Application Mobility Service implementation that integrates with scenarios.
Application Mobility Service provides support for relocation of user context between MEC hosts; application instance relocation not supported.
AMS defines three types of MEC application user-context transfer:
- Application self-controlled (not supported)
- Application triggers and executes the context transfer
- Context is transferred from source to target application
- MEC system’s role is to enable connectivity
- Device assisted (not supported)
- Device triggers and executes the context transfer
- Context is kept on the device
- MEC system’s role is to decide if application mobility is required
- MEC assisted (supported)
- MEC system triggers and assists the context transfer
- Context is transferred from source to target application

Application State Transfer Service
AdvantEDGE provides a proprietary application state transfer service that facilitates state transfer between edge application instances.
This service provides the following capabilities:
- Creating & configuring a Mobility Group (MG)
- Registering edge applications to the MG
- Executing application state transfers

V2X Information Service
AdvantEDGE provides a built-in V2X Information Service implementation that integrates with scenarios.
This service provides the following capabilities:
- Predicting journey-specific QoS for vehicular UEs
- Obtaining V2X provisioning information
- Publishing and subscribing for V2X messages
